RV-Friendly Camping in the Sebago Lakes Region

The Naples KOA Holiday sits on Route 114 in Naples, Maine, just over a mile from the Naples Causeway where Long Lake meets Brandy Pond and the Songo River. Of all the campgrounds in the Sebago Lakes region, this one leans hardest toward big-rig RV friendliness — wide pull-throughs, full hookups including 50 amp service, deluxe cabins, and the standard KOA amenity package of pool, store, propane fills, and Wi-Fi.

The trade for that comfort is that it is not on the water. The campground is 1.4 miles from the Naples Causeway and the public boat launches; you load up gear and drive or bike to the lake.

Site Types

The campground splits into three areas of mixed back-in and pull-through full-hookup RV sites, deluxe cabin rentals (sleep 4 to 6 with private bathrooms, kitchens, and decks), and tent sites with electric. Standard KOA amenities include a heated pool, a playground, a dog walk, a camp store, propane refills, and laundry.

Pull-Through Sites for Big Rigs

If you are towing a long fifth-wheel or driving a Class A motorhome, ask for one of the pull-through full-hookup sites toward the back of the campground. They are wider, level, and easier to enter and exit than the back-in sites near the entrance loop.

Lake Access from the Campground

The Naples Causeway is a short drive away and has multiple public boat launches into Long Lake and Brandy Pond — both are connected to the much larger Sebago Lake by the Songo River and the historic Songo Lock. From the campground you can be on the water in 5 minutes. Songo Lock itself is hand-cranked, dates to 1830, and is one of the last working hand-operated locks in the country.

Local's Tip

The causeway in Naples turns into a small village in summer — restaurants, ice cream stands, paddle craft rentals, and parasailing trips all line the strip. It is touristy, but the sunset over Long Lake from the causeway bridge is worth seeing once. Walk over after dinner.

Things to Do Nearby

Sebago Lake is Maine’s deepest and second-largest lake at 28,771 acres. Public swimming beaches, boat ramps, and trout fishing are all close. Sebago Lake State Park has the largest sandy beach in the region and is about 15 minutes south.

Songo River Queen II is a paddlewheel cruise boat operating from the Naples Causeway with one-hour tours of Long Lake and longer trips through the Songo Lock and onto Sebago Lake.

Pleasant Mountain (Shawnee Peak) is a 25-minute drive west in Bridgton with hiking to a ridgetop with views into the White Mountains.

Portland is 50 minutes south and an easy day trip if you want a break from the lake — Old Port restaurants, breweries, and the Portland Museum of Art are all within walking distance of each other downtown.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome under standard KOA pet policies — leashed, vaccinated, and never left unattended. Some KOA properties have breed restrictions on cabin rentals; check with the campground office when booking a cabin if that is relevant for you.

Getting There

The campground is at 295 Sebago Road (Route 114) in Naples, about a mile and a half south of the Route 302 / Route 114 intersection at the Naples Causeway. From Portland, take Route 302 west through Westbrook, North Windham, and Raymond into Naples — about 50 minutes. Coming from the north, Route 302 reaches Naples from the Bridgton direction. From Bangor, the most direct route runs I-95 south to Gray, then Route 26 north to Route 302 west — about 2 hours 45 minutes.

Naples has a small grocery, gas, and restaurants. North Windham (15 minutes east on Route 302) has a full-sized supermarket, big-box stores, and a Walmart for larger supply runs.
